Ryan Marx, age 32, of Schenectady, was charged on Thursday, Oct. 17, in Schenectady,
Trooper Stephanie O'Neil said the New York State Police, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the US Department of Homeland Security, and the Town of Rotterdam Police Department, investigated Marx's activities.
His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Schenectady after state police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Marx was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child and held for arraignment.
